The Duke of Edinburgh (DOE) Award is more than just an “adventure”—it’s a journey where students can develop new skills, discover hidden strengths, and boost their self-confidence. This year’s DOE experience was full of challenges, emotions, and, of course, a lot of walking!
While not everything went exactly as planned, the journey was unforgettable. It tested our endurance, resilience, and teamwork, and ultimately brought us closer—not just with our classmates, but also with our teachers. Together, we created a stronger, more united school community.
For the Year 3 and 4 students I would like to advise to be ready for the long walks, bring comfortable shoes, clothes and PLEASE use lot of sunscreen, because at least you should avoid burnings! Don’t stress and enjoy it instead, make the best out if it, help each other and you will see, everything will be better!
This year’s DOE had its twists and turns, moments of excitement, and even a few setbacks—but each moment contributed to memories that will last a lifetime. For Year 6 students, in particular, this was an incredible experience—one that marked the culmination of our time at school in a truly memorable way.
Looking back, it’s clear that the DOE gives so much more than just badges. It challenges us, inspires us, and reminds us of the potential we all hold. I hope that both Year 5 and Year 6 students enjoyed the journey—and that these memories will stay with us for years to come.
