3 days of productivity!
The GA3 Experience from a Personal POV:
From February 7th to 9th, our Med High students were granted the opportunity to participate at this year’s 20th MediMUN Session at the European University in Nicosia, allocating themselves into various assemblies (whether it was GA1 which consisted of security matters or GA3 which focused on the protection of human rights)!
As told by a delegate of the United Kingdom in GA3, it was truly an unforgettable rollercoaster. Days always began with a fun energiser, whether it was dancing to Diva by Beyonce, singing loudly to Call Me Maybe by Carly Rae Jepsen, or uncontrollably taking pictures on digital cameras. Lobbying on the first day was productive and chill, filled with meaningful conversations and a draft resolution that alliances had created. The debate session on the second day was the time to really lock in. Everyone was incredibly passionate in their speeches, POIs and proposed amendments. Some were a tad bit TOO passionate however, to the point that one of the chairs was on the verge of dying, side eyeing whenever he had the chance to! But that was not the worst part: whenever “denied due to time constraints” was heard, people started throwing invisible hands. There were a multitude of things that could have been said… I mean what’s the point of taking part in MediMUN if you are not a professional yapper? The friendships and memories that have been made at this conference are truly for the history books, and the participants could not be more grateful for this fantastic opportunity!
What do you mean you saw the President of Cyprus right in front of you?!
Ah yes, I forgot to mention. The very own Nikos Christodoulides, the literal PRESIDENT, arrived during the opening ceremony as a guest speaker, in which he carried out a refined speech. Crazy, right?! You hardly witness these moments on a daily basis!
Massive congratulations to our Med High students!
Our very own students, Naomi Gerber from Year 5 and Lara Walder from Year 6 received the prestigious Honourable Mention award! We could not imagine a better candidate for this nomination in their respective GAs. Med High truly stood out this year in communicative skills, bonding and, of course, debating and we could not be more proud of everyone who participated in this experience!
